Behind the duo Aili, are hidden two artists, two worlds and two cultures. When Japanese-Belgian Aili Murama and the Belgian producer Transistorcake join forces, it will make you want to move. Throughout the lockdown, the pair worked on a fresh-sounding music project called “Dansu”. They effortlessly bring together elements of Komische Musik, acid house, electronica, disco & leftfield pop. It is easier to dance to it than to put it in a box.
“I left Tokyo for Belgium when I was 7 years old and in many ways my Japanese has remained at that level. When I sing in Japanese, it puts me in a naive, almost childlike mood, which allows me to express what I feel right away. You don't have to understand the words, just the feeling they convey.”
Eclectic and cheerful, a perfect introduction to Aili and their musical world, a playful place where anything goes.
