Siksa is a Polish slang word for a naive and sexually attractive young woman. It is also the band name adopted by two artists — spoken word poet and punk singer Alex Freixeit and bassist Buri — who have become adept at making certain sections of society uncomfortable. Siksa duo is the most divisive Polish artist in recent memory, whose radical and brutally honest performances are smashing the patriarchy one gig at a time. Coming from punk, literary and theatre backgrounds, her shows dissect the European consciousness. To quote her own words, she's a girl on a mission.
SIKSA is an artsy flightless creature from a burned forest. She is your old friend – the art. She is nothing else than the ordinary variation of an animal and nothing else than the trembling variation of a human. Tormented by the tiny everlasting ball of unrest, she wipes out a tear clouded by the air from a dusty couch, and all over again she goes on her adventures of THE USES OF ENCHANTMENT. Her instinct leads her through the streets, and thanks to the bumpy languages she was indeed able to get to know the taste. And you still cannot believe your eyes made of coal… And then, all of a sudden! SIKSA swirls around in the smoke! SIKSA falls asleep for a moment, and we all know - to put SIKSA to sleep is a true accomplishment. She was asleep for 7 years and not a single night. So do not bid farewell to her – she might still come useful.
